About this Gateway
NIHR Programme Development Grants (PDG) are designed to enable a research team to carry out targeted preparatory work to develop a competitive Programme Grants for Applied Research (PGfAR) funding application. Programme Development Grants are required to produce final reports, which are not traditional research articles but are now being published as 'documents' on NIHR Open Research within the Programme Development Grant Gateway. All documents published on NIHROR receive a DOI and are archived via Portico on publication to ensure persistent linking and retrieval; they are also indexed in Google Scholar to improve discoverability, along with associated metadata and the text description.
